It instantly became one of the most watched productions in the history of the streaming service. “Wednesday” is constantly in the Top 10 of the most watched series on Netflix, and it was recently announced that there will be a second season.
Jenna Ortega did not want to act in series anymore
Many fans of the series believe that its phenomenon lies in the great performance of Jenny Ortega, who thanks to this role has become one of the most popular actresses of the young generation. The 20-year-old is currently promoting the latest film with her participation “Scream VI” and gave an interview to the British weekly “”, in which she also revealed many details about her involvement in “Wednesday”.
It turns out that Ortega initially did not intend to appear in this production, because she feared that it would take away her opportunity to star in feature films:

Later in the conversation, the actress admitted that she was convinced to change her decision by the fact that Tim Burton, whom Ortega admired, would work on the series. However, she admitted that initially even he couldn’t convince her to play “Wednesday”:
The only reason I took the role is because Tim [Burton] he is a legend and it turned out that we get along very well. But even then, I still said several times that I didn’t want the role
Jenna Ortega also revealed that the whole crew of the series did not expect such a success. In addition to record-breaking viewership, the “Wednesday dance” became a sensation, which quickly went viral and was played by people around the world. One of such people was even the headmistress of a high school in Sosnowiec, who decided to recreate a popular choreography at her school’s prom.
Recently, there have also been voices that the actress is applying for a role in “Beetlejuice 2”, on which work may begin soon. So far, no information has been confirmed, but it is rumored that Tim Burton will return to direct. If Ortega manages to star in this production, she will be able to work with one of her favorite directors again.
