“Naatu, naatu” from the movie “RRR” won the Academy Award for Best Original Song – and it is the first ever Indian film nominated for an award. The artists gave a fantastic show at the gala. See for yourself.

The Oscar gala featured Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, accompanied by over 20 dancers. “Naatu, Naatu” captivated the audience in the hall and in front of the TV sets – it was definitely the most energetic few minutes of the event.

It was colorful and in the style of the 1920s, because the action of the film, for which this song was written, is set in this period. “Naatu, Naatu” overshadowed both Rihanna and Lady Gaga, who were also nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. The work, which previously won a Golden Globe, now found recognition from members of the Academy – composer MM Keeravani and author of the text Chandrabose were awarded with statuettes.
