For the first time in decades, the Academy of Film Arts and Sciences decided to share an important detail of the ceremony Oscar awardswhich will be held on Sunday, March 12.

In this edition, the invited stars and the nominees go through one champagne dress, unlike the bright red carpet that distinguishes luxury events. At the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, where the gala evening has been held for several years, the interior designers are already finalizing the details of the ceremony decor.

Wednesday the presenter Jimmy Kimmelthe Executive Director of the Academy, Bill Kramerand the President of the Academy, Janet Yangwere present to roll out the arrival mat.

Kimmel, who will present the Oscars for the third time, did not pass up the opportunity to show his comedic skills.

“People have been asking, ‘Will there be a problem this year? Will there be violence this year?’ And we certainly hope not,” he said. “But if so, I think the decision to go with a champagne carpet instead of a red carpet shows how confident we are that no blood will be shed.”

The presenter referred to the incident that everyone remembers from the last edition of the Oscars, the blow Will Smith gave Chris Rock when he made a comment about his wife Jada Prinkett Smith’s illness.

However, the Academy assured that the color change of the carpet is solely due to the design.

“We asked our (decorative) team for a look that would work both day and night,” said Bill Kramer. Performers nominated for best actress or actor, such as Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Ana de Armas, Austin Butler, Colin Farrell and Brendan Fraser, are expected to walk the champagne carpet of the Oscars.
