In the first edition of Polish Idol, Ewelina Flinta and Alicja Janosz met in the finale of the program. The singers fought with each other for the main prize. More than 20 years after their debut, they returned with memories to participate in the show and told about the beginnings of their acquaintance.

It’s hard to believe that more than 20 years have passed since the first Polish edition. The musical show has become a career pass for many talented performers. The program featured Ewelina Flinta and Alicja Janosz, who fought for the main prize in the final. Now the artists have met again to record an episode of the podcast “I love you anyway”, in which they talked about the atmosphere that prevailed between them on the production set.

Although Alicja Janosz was the winner of the first edition, she did not make such a great career as her competitor. In the conversation, the singer admitted that she does not remember much from the times of participating in the music show. She confessed that it was a difficult time for her, especially since she was only 16 at the time and was guided only by what people from the production advised her. – Music and the desire to sing and fulfill a dream turned into a competition – a star. In turn, Flinta admitted that the competition they were forced into in the program introduced a negative atmosphere and worked to their disadvantage.

Janosz said that participating in the show and what happened right after the end of the program was a huge lesson for her. She mentioned that although she released her debut album, she did not feel like a real winner and believed that she did not deserve this success. She watched Flinta’s development with admiration and envy and admitted that she herself dreamed of such a career. — I felt that I gave up, that I can’t, that you should have won “Idol”, not me. (…) I heard it many times and let it become my inner voice – said the singer bitterly.

Flint, however, was of a different opinion. She stated that Janosz should not blame herself for how her career turned out after participating in . She noticed that the winner was then too young to be able to manage her own development, and that her success was the responsibility of other people who, unfortunately, were not up to the task. “I totally disagree that you ruined it.” (…) I said from the beginning that you were 16 years old, you were a young, gifted, cool girl who was not helped to do something cool. I think you got hurt on the first record,” she said.
