“20,000 species of bees” will open the San Sebastian Film and Human Rights Festival

The movie 20,000 species of bees by the director, the laudio from Estíbaliz Urresola will open the 20th San Sebastián Film and Human Rights Festival to be held from April 21 to 28.

Estíbaliz Urresola premiered his first feature film at the last Berlin Festival where the leading actress, Sofía Otero from Basauri, won the Silver Bear for best performance.

These are some of the themes of the films in this edition: the resistance against Islamist fundamentalism in Iran, the war in Ukraine, the history of the harkis, Algerian soldiers who fought on the side of the French Army in the Algerian War, the migrations of the 20th century, the Current affairs of Western Sahara or the situation of the Romanian youth in the time of Ceau¿escu.

He festival award This year it will be awarded to the Chilean writer and filmmaker Carmen Castillo, whose best-known film, Santa Fe Streetand to which an exhibition is dedicated at the Okendo Kultur Etxea, which is already open.
