According to the regulations, honorary blood donors are entitled to an additional two days of paid leave. However, this privilege is closely related to the state of epidemic emergency or state of epidemic, which is valid until March 31, 2023. Until now, donors were entitled to one day off (on the day of donating blood or plasma). If the state of epidemic threat is not extended, blood and plasma donors will lose the privilege. • the right to remuneration or emoluments in accordance with the law.

For the duration of the medical examination, the blood donor candidate is also entitled to leave from work, business or educational activities, and to retain remuneration. Honorary Blood Donors will still be able to count on reimbursement of travel costs and energy compensation, however, they will lose their statutory entitlement to rail and public bus fares.

Systematically donating plasma can gain up to 48 days off during shifts (plasma can be donated every two weeks).
