Although Jann has been active in the music industry for several years, and received his artistic education at Flynn Performing Arts in Newry and the prestigious BIMM college in London. In Poland, he performed at independent festivals, also as support for Ralph Kaminski. Participation in the Eurovision preselections, however, has significantly increased interest in the artist’s work and planned live performances in recent days – tickets for his first tour sold out in 24 hours. He is appreciated not only in the country. The song “Gladiator” is gaining popularity on streaming services, occupying high places in the charts next to Eurovision proposals from other countries that won in internal pre-selections, and long-time fans of the competition and bookmakers talk about a “missed chance” for Poland’s good result at this year’s Eurovision. Jann himself, thanking for the support, emphasized that he did not want it to be at the expense of belittling the winner of the national eliminations – Blanca. However, there is still a lot of controversy around the singer.
She issued a statement. New disputes have arisen
Due to the lack of transparent voting results, which were finally revealed with a delay, the Eurovision media sent a letter to the president of TVP, Mateusz Matyszkowicz. In their opinion, several points of the internal regulations were broken during the Polish pre-selection. The fans of the competition reacted in a more brutal way, urging Blanka to give up going to Liverpool. However, the singer issued a statement in which she announces that she has no such intention. She also referred to the alleged links with the jury – earlier she was accused of knowing Edyta Górniak’s son and the fact that Augustin Egurrola was the author of the choreography for “Solo” was emphasized.
The victory gave me more sadness than joy. I am extremely sorry when I read disgusting lies (among others about relationships, plagiarism and above all “fixed” voting). I was a participant in a competition where the rules were equal for each artist. […] I am wholeheartedly with the other participants. A beautiful moment of enjoying the success that I worked hard for was taken away from me. […] I will not give up! Moreover, I promise to give my best
she wrote on Instagram. Recently, however, she had an image failure – Internet users noticed that she liked one of the comments under the statement, in which, although she was supported, other performers were insulted.
People like Jann, from the margins of society, should not run at all. We do not understand how such a great artist can be compared with a guy with a naked belly.
– sounded an excerpt from the fan’s message. Earlier, in an interview with Radio ZET, she declared that Jann “is wonderful” and keeps her fingers crossed for her despite the loss. He also apologized to her on behalf of the fans for the hateful news she had to deal with.
Jann will be a guest of foreign preselections. What about Blanka?
The song “Solo” is still the most popular among all submitted to the Polish pre-selection – it has already been played over 12 million times on YouTube. Most of the comments, however, were negative. Foreign fans promote “Gladiator”, which has gained over 2 million views. The proof of the popularity of the artist outside the borders of our country is the recently issued invitation. The organizers of Melfest WKND 2023 – a 3-day event for Eurovision fans preceding the final of the Swedish preselection – announced that Jann will be the special guest of the event. What’s more, he will perform on March 11 during the main concert in the company of pre-selection winners from other countries, although he is not himself.
The Polish winner, Blanka, did not appear on the schedule of the event for a long time. It turns out, however, that he will also perform there, but on a different day – March 10, during the so-called. pre-party.
