There is no “Day of the Wacko”, “Nothing funny” or “Civil War” without Marek Kondrat. One of the most characteristic Polish actors is also often associated with commercials of the popular bank chain. Commercial cooperation was not his only additional source of income, but it quickly turned into his main one. Kondrat earned over PLN 10 million on advertising.

The brutal reality of earnings in the advertising industry compared to the film industry is evidenced by the actor’s words in an interview with “Playboy” in 2015. For several years he was bound by an advertising contract with one of the banks.
In fact, I made the most money in my life by appearing in a bank commercial. And I’m not ashamed of it at all. This is a sensation on a global scale, because there is no other financial institution associated with one image, one face for so long. Let’s add: not young. I don’t think anyone wrote a master’s thesis about it, but I thought about this phenomenon several times.

The company has been cooperating with Kondrat since 2001, and for the activity and effectiveness of advertisements it was awarded the Golden Effie in the Long Term Marketing Excellence category – relation and pioneering in the scale of using the image of a famous person.
If we compare campaigns of similar intensity, we come to the conclusion that advertising spots with Marek Kondrat are characterized by higher aided awareness during the research than spots without him. The sources of the actor’s relationship with the advertising industry, however, can be traced back to the early 90s, when the most famous disco polo pastiche – “Soap Fa”, performed by Kondrat and Marlena Drozdowska, was created. However, it should be emphasized that despite the popularity of the hit, the performers did not receive even a zloty for advertising the Fa concern.
