During the concert of the rapper known under the pseudonym GloRilla in New York, there was a tragedy. Panic broke out among the audience, as a result of which two people died, one is in a critical condition – others were injured.

Grammy-nominated artist GloRilla performed on March 5 in Rochester, New York. According to the head of the local police department, David Smith – around 11 pm, panic broke out among those gathered in front of the stage.

“There are reports that the reason for the commotion among the crowd was audible gunshots,” the commander said. However, he stressed that investigators found no evidence of the use of any weapons.

“We are receiving multiple reports of the cause of the tragedy. There is talk of too many people, gunshots, pepper spray and more. Initial reports from the scene indicate that the injured people were injured only as a result of being trampled. We have no evidence that they died. any gunshots or someone was otherwise intentionally injured,” a police statement quoted by The New York Times reads.

Rumors of the alleged shooting caused the crowd gathered at the Main Street Armory to run for the exit. Mass panic resulted in the deaths of two people. Police have identified one victim – a 33-year-old woman.

In addition, the uniform reported that one of the women present at the concert was hospitalized with serious injuries and is still in a critical condition. Seven other people were taken to local hospitals – their lives and health are not in danger.

According to The News York Times, the day after the tragic events, concert participants returned to the venue to look for lost items. Local WHEC-TV spoke to several people who experienced moments of terror. One of the women stressed that she feared for her life.

My whole life flashed before my eyes – said a concert participant who was knocked to the ground during the event. “I was lying on the ground and praying, I was saying to myself: ‘You have to get up. You have to move. If you stay here, they will run after you,'” she added.

Rochester Mayor Malik D. Evans declared during a press conference that the city would use its best efforts to determine whether all required safety measures were followed during the event.

The rapper herself, who performed on stage that evening, also referred to the situation. The artist wrote on Twitter that she is praying for all participants of the concert.
