As for the world, the ’60s party gave way to the ’70s hangover, and the UK was headed for a brutal crisis. The United States was still at war with Vietnam and within two weeks of each other, music was losing Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. AND In that environment of pessimism, ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ was born, exactly in March 1973.
Recorded at Abbey Road, it was heir to the last stage of the Beatles. Halfway andBetween psychedelia and progressive rock, he remained three years in a row on the bestseller list.
They became millionaires, those of us who listened to them got rich in another way. His influence marked the music of the 70s and 80s.
Later would come a decade of successes, The Wall and the fight of egos between Waters and Gilmour…which ended the band.
