Kaylea had great potential on the pitch and was going to be a real star. She was characterized by a strong free spirit and determination. Kaylei’s family friends described her as a charming and lively teenager. There was nothing to indicate that there was anything wrong with this family. When it came to light in what conditions the teenager was staying, everyone was shocked. Her parents, the people closest to her, were horribly neglected and Kaylea died.

When emergency services arrived at the Titford home in Newton, they found the room dirty and cluttered with the body of a 16-year-old girl. Rescuers admitted that the girl was found in dirty clothes and soiled bedding. The room was a mess and there were flies everywhere. Kaylea had deep bedsores and there were worms all over her body. At the time of her death, she weighed 146 kilograms. The parents explained that the teenager stayed at home when the coronavirus lockdown was introduced in March 2020. She stayed in bed for 6 months. She died in October. Alun Titford, 45, and Sarah Lloyd Jones, 40, have been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of their daughter. The mother was sentenced to six years in prison and the father to seven and a half years.
