Her talent was quickly noticed, but when World War II broke out, she was drafted into the Home Army as a liaison officer.

Unfortunately, as a result of this incident, the actress ended up in the hospital with a fractured femur. She had to use a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
Soon after, Feldman learned she had lung cancer. She resigned from treatment, but remained professionally active until her death. She died at the age of 91 on January 24, 2007.
