It is Kimmel’s third time hosting the Oscars, his first two appearances being in 2017 and 2018.

“We are thrilled to have Jimmy score his hat-trick on this global stage,” executive producers and showrunners Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner said in a joint statement last year.

“Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the incredible artists and films of our 95th Academy Awards,” added Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang.

“To be invited for the third time to present the Oscars is a great honor or a trap. Anyway, I’m thankful to the Academy for asking me so soon after all the good guys said no,” Kimmel jokingly wrote.
