Jerzy S. heard the verdict in the October 2022 collision case
On March 1, the first trial of Jerzy S. took place in connection with the collision that the actor caused in October 2022 in Krakow. The artist hit a motorcyclist while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The actor’s lawyer applied for voluntary submission to punishment, but the prosecutor did not agree to the, in his opinion, too low fine proposed by the defender. He demanded that S. be found guilty and that a fine of PLN 45,000 be imposed, as well as an order to transfer PLN 25,000 to the accident victims’ fund.
According to TVN 24, during the session, Judge Tomasz Rutkowski read the explanations of the actor who did not appear in the courtroom. S. explained that on the day of the accident he drank three or four glasses of wine with dinner. He was supposed to forget that he had an interview scheduled for the same day, so he got behind the wheel.
I was upset, but I’m a word person and I didn’t want to cancel,” he explains.
The actor also noted that he regretted that event very much and emphasized that he had never driven under the influence of drugs before. The artist also explained that while behind the wheel, he noticed that his hearing aid suddenly discharged, which undoubtedly influenced S.’s orientation in a stressful situation.
While driving (…) I realized that the battery in my hearing aid was discharged. Then this apparatus acts as a cork. I couldn’t hear anything in my right ear, and the contact with the scooter was on the right side. When the driver started calling me names, I didn’t know what was going on, I thought it would be better to drive away.
The prosecutor agreed with the adopted line of defense, but nevertheless asked for a higher sentence, emphasizing that well-known persons with a good reputation must also suffer appropriate consequences when the situation so requires.
The judgment of the court is not final.
Jerzy S. had 0.7 per mille of alcohol in his body at the time of hitting the motorcyclist. The day after the incident, he apologized to fans via social media.
I deeply regret and apologize for making the worst driving decision of my life yesterday. I declare full cooperation with the authorities appointed to clarify yesterday’s incident – wrote the actor.
