When will the 13th pension be paid in 2023? The deadline may be delayed
According to the Act on the additional annual cash benefit for pensioners, “thirteen” should be paid to seniors together with the April benefit. Some of them were supposed to get it as early as March 31. This would apply to pensioners who have their payment set for April 1, because this year that date falls on a Saturday. This does not apply only to people who are on pre-retirement or pre-retirement allowance, because they receive their thirteenth pension in May.
However, it turns out that the payments may be postponed, as reported by Mateusz Morawiecki on Monday, February 27. – I want to promise from here, here, from Lower Silesia, that there will also be a thirteenth pension paid in May and June this year. And the fourteenth pension later in the year, because it is our commitment to seniors – said the Prime Minister during his visit to the seniors’ club in Gryfów Śląski. It is not known whether the Prime Minister slipped the tongue or whether delays in payments are planned. If the government decides to postpone the date of payment of the “thirteen”, it will be necessary to amend the act.
What is the thirteenth pension? It will be higher than last year
The thirteenth pension is equal to the minimum benefit applicable in a given year. Thanks to the indexation in 2023, the “thirteen” will be paid in PLN 1,588.44 gross. This is a higher amount than before, because in 2022 seniors received PLN 1,338.44 gross, which gave PLN 1,217.98 net.
