How to wash a dirty balcony? Start by cleaning the surface
Before proceeding to cleaning with household products, remove objects standing and hanging on the railings. In winter, we use this space to a lesser extent, which is why we often put cardboard boxes, old pots, pots and other items for which we don’t have enough space at home. It is worth assessing their condition, sorting them properly and deciding what to throw away and what else can be reused.
It is worth starting cleaning the balcony or terrace only when it is dry and sunny during the day, and there is no snow or rain on the tiles. First, it is good to vacuum the surface or sweep sand particles with a brush with hard bristles.
How to wash the floor on the balcony? Use a bucket and household cleaner
To clean the balcony, products that you probably already have at home will work. First, prepare a bucket of warm water. It is worth remembering that during cleaning, the liquid will have to be replaced several times. You can add to the water:
- dish soap,
- soap and baking soda,
- vinegar (1:3 ratio with water).
Each of the three mixtures should easily deal with dirt. If your floor is made of stoneware, lemon juice will be invaluable. It is enough to apply it on the surface, rub it in, wait a dozen or so minutes, and then wash the plates with water. A soft cloth or mop with a microfiber insert will work for cleaning. Before you start cleaning with one of the above methods, first make sure your household detergent won’t damage the tiles or grout. It’s a good idea to test on a small, inconspicuous area.
