Netflix lowers subscription prices. Which countries are covered by the discount?

Subscription prices have been reduced in over 30 countries. In the last few weeks, the cost of the service has decreased, among others. in countries such as Croatia, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Indonesia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Slovenia. Unfortunately, for now, there is no information that Poland would join this group.

The last changes to the Netflix subscription price in Poland took place in the summer of 2021. The platform lowered the costs of the basic offer and increased the fees for the Premium package. When asked about the reasons for the recent changes in prices, the service authorities did not give a clear answer. “We’re always looking for ways to improve our subscribers’ experience,” a Netflix spokesperson said.

Why is Netflix lowering prices? The reason may be declining profits

During the fourth quarter of 2022, Netflix gained more than a year earlier. The difference was over $140 million. What’s more, the platform is used by more and more users, and regulars of the streaming service are reluctant to give up its services.

Still, the corporation cannot be entirely satisfied. Looking at the financial statistics of the platform, you can see that the company’s actual net profit decreased from $607 to $55 million in the fourth quarter of the year. Changes in subscription prices may therefore seek to attract more subscribers, and thus increase Netflix’s earnings.
