Yesterday, i.e. on February 21, 2023, a speech was held in Warsaw’s Arkady Kubicki. The speech, as well as the politician’s visit to Poland, met with great publicity in the media. This time, however, the main topic of discussion was the song that the gathered heard from the loudspeakers just after the last words of the US president.

Joe Biden began his speech by welcoming the citizens of our country and appreciating the alliance between Poland and the United States. He then referred to his last visit to Warsaw, which took place just after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. “I was last here last year. It was not long after Putin started the biggest land war in Europe after World War II, the politician added that the situation beyond Poland’s eastern border is difficult, but the world will not stand idly by while innocent people suffer. — May God bless the heroes of Ukraine and all those who defend freedom. Thank you, Poland, may God bless you, thanked the US president for the performance.
Immediately after these words, all the gathered heard the band’s song “A Sky Full Of Stars”, which almost immediately became the subject of a media storm.

For many, the choice of song that the audience heard immediately after the speech turned out to be irrational. In the comments on social media, they did not hide their indignation, and at the same time did not spare Joe Biden words of criticism.

It turns out, however, that the choice of the song was not accidental and, contrary to allegations, there is an explanation why it was this song and not another one. The son of a politician, Beau Biden, was a fan of Coldplay. The man was a veteran of the Iraq war and died at the age of only 46, a fact that Joe Biden could not accept. Since then, the songs of the British group have a special meaning for the politician.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Coldplay’s “A Sky Full Of Stars” has been played during Joe Biden’s performance. The song could also be heard at other important moments for him, e.g. after the speech he gave when he found out he had won the presidential election.
