An honorary pension is available to anyone who has reached the age of 100. Its amount does not depend on the contributions earned and is paid in addition to the pension already received. so-called however, the centenarian pension is not subject to indexation, it is paid for life every month in a fixed amount.
Persons who have been granted the pensions of a centenarian in the period from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, can count on an allowance of PLN 4,944.79 gross. Seniors who will turn 100 after March 1, 2023, can count on a benefit higher by PLN 595.46 gross than the one in force a year ago. The honorary pension will therefore amount to PLN 5,540.25 gross, and this amount will apply until February 29, 2024. Those who turn 100 after February 29 can expect a raise.
Honorary pension for centenarians. Are applications needed?
There is no need to submit any applications. An honorary pension is granted automatically to every senior who reaches the age of 100. It is also independent of the pension and other allowances. The exceptions are seniors who do not receive an old-age or disability pension and have not worked a single day. In their case, it will be necessary to submit an application to ZUS, because they are not in the system. The benefit is paid by both ZUS and KRUS, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defence. In 2022, ZUS alone paid an honorary benefit to 2,600 seniors.
