Michał Wiśniewski is referred to as the first Polish celebrity. At the turn of the 1990s and 2000s, it was extremely popular, and the hits of Ich Troje were sung by all of Poland. He was also the star of the daily reality show “I am what I am”, in which viewers could observe the daily life of the Wiśniewski family, which was not averse to splendor at the time.
Michał Wiśniewski will only receive a pension of PLN 200, but he does not complain
Less than twenty years later, the editors of the portal decided to ask about the artist’s earnings and future retirement. In an interview, Wiśniewski directly admitted that he would be entitled to a very small pension, which is why he does not make his future dependent on it:
What are my chances of retirement? Of course, I omit the fact that I was calculated about PLN 200 per month
However, he believes that he can only feel sorry for himself, because no one was stopping him from saving this money. Therefore, he also does not understand other stars who complain about the low amount of the benefit. He believes that people from the art world earn enough to think about securing themselves for the future. He believes that he himself is the anti-example of what not to do, and therefore does not complain:
(…) Each of us has a chance to take care of our future. I am the best example of this. I made 40 million and if I cared about that money, I would still have it today, probably with a good percentage
The Polish pension system was also hit in the interview. Wisniewski called it “obsolete” and said that by the time ZUS paid his pension, the system might stop working. “This is such an old institution that it should have been thoroughly reformed a long time ago, which is not possible because it is politically inconvenient,” concluded the singer.
