Exposure and questioning
Carlos A. Castro Valarezo is an artist from Guayaquil by profession with a degree in Audiovisual Production, who began his pictorial work in 2005. His works are based on his interest in the beginning of life, technology and the future of plants. “I am inspired by the wealth of natural resources, life and technology. I paint a world similar to ours ”, he says, that is why his paintings question the future of plants and human beings; his canvases are named Semi-cloudy blue, Covid love, Forest, Loving tissue, Forest and lagoon, among others. “We create the life we want, we believe in what we want to live and what we live is not enough. Humanity is not so human anymore, we are doing the same to nature. We want to humanize the digital and digitize man. This is becoming our reality, ”he says. His most recent work, Digit fruit, is the photographic record of a series of trees within a forest to later be represented as a machine would. Along with other paintings, he exhibits them in Blanca Gallery in Plaza Guayarte until Sunday, November 14.
