Sometimes it happens that entertainment programs are visited by well-known media personalities. However, they often have to hide their true appearance. It was different in the case of singer Loran Allred, whose voice was heard by millions even before participating in “Britain’s Got Talent”. All thanks to the song promoting the Golden Globe and Oscar nominated film, “The Greatest Showman”. However, few people were aware of who was behind the moving composition.

Allred sang one of the most famous songs from the production of “The Greatest Showman” – “Never Enough”. The single went gold in several European countries, including Poland, as well as Portugal and Italy. It was certified double platinum in the United States and Canada. In 2019, the soundtrack won a Grammy and was nominated for other prestigious music and film awards. The young vocalist responsible for “Never Enough”, however, did not gain the status of an international star and did not become as recognizable as Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the authors of the Oscar-nominated “This Is Me” for the Best Original Song. However, Allred decided to fight for her own and apply for Britain’s Got Talent in 2022, a few years after the premiere of the film.

Many of you may already know my voice, but not my face. It’s because I sang the song “Never Enough” in the movie “The Greatest Showman”. I was hired to record reference backing vocals for the actresses to learn their parts.

She revealed that the song would eventually be performed by Rebecca Ferguson, who plays Jenny Lind, but when she heard Loran’s voice, she told the production, “She should sing it.” So it happened, and the actress only moved her lips to the music. The confession clearly moved the jurors and the audience.

Simon Cowell couldn’t believe it. He asked the participant why she did not make use of the situation and did not fight for fame. Allred replied that she found it more comfortable to sing anonymously offstage. Today, however, she has matured to stand on the biggest stages and has no qualms about showing her real face. She symbolically performed “Never Enough” because, as she admitted, she always felt that this song was meant for her.

They decided to reward her with a gold button, guaranteeing her promotion to the next stage of the program. Eventually, she reached the final, where she took 9th place. However, viewers felt that Allred did not enter the show for the money or the win, only to gain the recognition she deserved. In 2021, she released her debut album with the eloquent title “Late Bloomer” and is still touring.
