History has aroused many extreme emotions for over a century. During the maiden voyage of the British transatlantic, there was a collision with an iceberg, as a result of which the ship sank. The tragic events, in which about 1,500 passengers died, took place on the night of April 14/15, 1912. A new recording has appeared on the web, which accurately shows the current appearance of the wreck of the famous cruise ship.
The Titanic sank over 100 years ago. The wreck was discovered only in the mid-1980s
Although it sank in 1912, the wreck of the ship was not found until September 1, 1985. The location of the remains of the British ocean liner was determined by a group of divers led by Robert Ballard. Experts spent days exploring the ocean floor before pinpointing the cruise ship’s exact location. After the initial inspection, it was determined that the best decision would be to leave the wreck in the place of its sinking, i.e. at a depth of 3802 meters. At the time of its discovery, the ship had been under water for over 70 years, and it was feared that an attempt to salvage it would end up completely ruining the remains.
New footage of the Titanic wreck. The ship deteriorates every year
A few days ago, researchers from OceanGate Expeditions completed one of many Titanic submarine expeditions in the area where the Titanic wreck is located. The company has released a recording online that clearly shows the current state of the transatlantic. The video shows that the ship is in a much worse condition than in the recordings from a few years ago. It was noticed that the collapsed mast almost completely fell apart, and there is no trace of the famous crow’s nest.
