The San Remo Festival is one of the most popular song festivals in the world. Many other international competitions followed its example. The young rapper went crazy during a performance in San Remo
In the next part of the inaugural gala, the participants of the festival presented their musical performances. At the very end, the popular rapper Riccardo Fabbriconi, known under the pseudonym Blanco, performed. Last year, he won the competition with Mahamood with the song “Brivdi”, and later performed with it successfully at Eurovision. Singers at the beginning of the event performed this song, and at the very end Blanco himself performed it. This performance turned out to be a scandal that caused great disgust among many.
The rapper on stage became very nervous, and over time his frustration only grew. He kept repeating that he couldn’t hear anything. At some point, he stopped singing and became furious. He started kicking everything in his way. First of all, bouquets of flowers, which are one of the symbols of San Remo, were hit.
When the rapper was in a demolition trance, the audience reacted and started booing in protest. When the musicians stopped playing, Blanco said that he was annoyed by the headphone failure and left the stage. One of the hosts of Amadeus suggested that he come back in a while and perform the same song again, but the rapper did not take up this offer. Meanwhile, the second lead singer, 78-year-old Gianni Morandi, grabbed a broom and began sweeping the stage.
After everything, Blanco asks for forgiveness
This misdemeanor resulted in a press conference held a day later that focused mainly on this topic. “Blanco is aware that he has done something he should not have done. He did not ask for understanding, but for forgiveness,” Amadeus told reporters. “He called me, he was very sorry and apologized. At the age of 19-20, it happens to do something that should not be done. We accept his apology calmly” – he concluded.
The host also said that Blanco had kicked a rose during his performance in the script. “But then there were technical problems and he took all his anger out on them. He made a mistake and he knows it,” the rapper continued to explain.
During the conference, it was also mentioned that the inauguration of the festival was watched by 10.7 million viewers of RAI1 television. The festival in San Remo will last until Saturday, and this year’s foreign stars will be Depeche Mode and Black Eyed Peas.
