For weeks, there has been a discussion on the web about the pensions of famous personalities. This is an opportunity to reflect on the numerous disadvantages of the Polish system of benefits and discuss the security of their future, which should be considered by all freelancers. Pension amounts are shared online by actors, musicians, celebrities and politicians.

Some time ago, President Aleksander Kwaśniewski told about the amount of his benefit. The current retirement age for men in Poland is 65, which means that a politician can receive the benefit for 4 years.

The president admitted that retirement forecasts did not fill him with optimism. A few years ago, he announced that his benefits would amount to PLN 2,600.

“This amount does not give an elementary sense of security,” Kwasniewski emphasized in interviews. Today, due to numerous indexation, the amount is higher, as are our bills and prices in stores.

Kwasniewski, however, has the privilege that the said amount does not have to be enough for him to survive. As a former president, he also receives a lifetime presidential pension, which many times exceeds the one proposed by ZUS. According to O2.pl, the benefit is 75 percent of the basic salary of heads of state. This is about PLN 18,000.

“We’re not complaining, but it’s not comparable to Barack Obama. We’re also earning money, in short, we’re earning money,” Kwaśniewski said in an interview on Polsat News.

Celebrity pensions. What benefits do celebrities receive

Earning money for retirement is the way that celebrities choose most often. Most celebrities are not satisfied with the benefits calculated by ZUS. The 72-year-old singer of Budka Suflera is to receive a pension of one thousand zlotys a month. Marek Piekarczyk is in a much worse situation, who did not pay pension contributions, and ZUS calculated that after resigning from professional activity, the singer would receive PLN 7.77 from the state per month. “I framed this letter and hung it on the wall,” reveals Piekarczyk.

In turn, there are no comments on the amount of the benefit after 30 years of professional work. The journalist declares that she is able not only to support herself from her pension, but also to help her relatives.

There are also stars who do not want to talk about retirement in the media. These include, for example, Andrzej Seweryn and . The actress emphasizes that she sympathizes with her colleagues in the industry, but she was reasonable herself and protected herself against system errors.
