Why doesn’t Tigger appear in the Winnie The Pooh horror movie?

The Winnie the Pooh story was written by Alan Alexander Milne, his intention was to endow the bear with a cute and friendly personality. In the same way it was similarly adapted by Disney. Everything changed with “Blood and Honey”, a terrifying version of the character that will hit Ecuadorian theaters in May.

The tenderness of the classic character disappears in “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”, shows a different facet, bloodier and thirsty for revenge against the family of Christopher Robinwho in other versions is his friend, but who is now his target.

Classic literary characters created in the 1920s by AA Milne became especially popular as a result of his adaptations Disney. Although it is a very different adaptation of the character, one of the elements that stood out the most was the omission of Tigger, Pooh’s very close friend.

The reason why this character does not appear is because Tigger is still not in the public domain. The mouse company had the rights to the bear, the first Winnie the Pooh book entered the public domain in the United States in January 2022which allowed Rhys Frake-Waterfield to make this disturbing film adaptation.

“When we came up with this, we knew we would have to be very careful about the items we use. We couldn’t be influenced by the Disney version at all, so I consciously didn’t watch anything from them. I went through the book and deliberately tried to make our Pooh and Piglet as different as I could. Tigger, for example, is not in the public domain.. So it was not allowed to be used in the story, declared the filmmaker. (AND)
