Passers-by thought she was drunk. Nobody helped her. By the time Mira was taken to the hospital, it was too late

Mira Kubasińska and Tadeusz Nalepa are undoubtedly the stars of popular music of the 60s and 70s in Poland. Although they made a perfect duo on stage, they couldn’t find an agreement in private. Their parting led to a series of tragic events.

Marriage of Kubasińska and Nalepa. The couple founded a rock band

When Mira Kubasińska met , she was the vocalist of a folk band in Ostrowiec. The couple met for the first time in Rzeszów, where the artist came for guest performances. During the lunch break, Mira and her friend went to a restaurant. She was humming something under her breath, and her voice was picked up by Nalepa, who performed in this place in the evenings.

For some time, Mira and Tadeusz corresponded with each other. While preparing to participate in the 2nd Festival of Young Talents in Szczecin, they became close and became a couple. They got married in 1964, and a year later they welcomed their son, Piotr, into the world. At that time, the band Blackout was also formed, which they founded together with Stanisław Guzek. Three years later, the group changed its name to , and soon after they released their debut album “On the other bank of the rainbow”, which was appreciated by both listeners and critics.

Problems in the relationship of musicians. Mira couldn’t accept the separation

Although they were professionally successful and triumphant, they could not get along privately. The first problems reportedly appeared after the birth of their firstborn. For a long time they tried to create the appearance of normality, but the differences in character led to more and more frequent quarrels, and in 1980 they decided to divorce. – The marriage had already been falling apart, but we were mature enough to decide that Piotrek, at least until his final exams, would not know about it – Nalepa. Unfortunately, for Mira, parting was a defeat that she could not accept for a long time.

After the breakup of Breakout, Mira tried to pursue music for two years, but in vain. Eventually, she gave up her passion completely. “She lived with this guy in a trailer park. They had a child. I believe that she did it to spite Nalepa, because she was still in love with Tadeusz long after the breakup, said Bogdan Loebl. Mira fell into financial difficulties and tried various jobs to earn basic necessities, including she sold dumplings, painted smurf figures, and even worked in a bar at the Central Railway Station. Numerous problems and lack of support made her reach for alcohol.

Mira planned to return to the stage. Ambitious plans were interrupted by sudden death

In the fall of 2005, Mira gave an interview in which she announced a loud return to the stage. – I have to boast that I’m working on new recordings. In January a single will be released, in April the whole album, the first after over 25 years. Finally I can say: I’m back! announced the artist proudly.

On October 25, 2005, Mira went shopping. Suddenly, in front of the store, she lost consciousness. She had been lying on the pavement for a long time. Local residents knew that the singer was struggling with addiction, so everyone assumed she was drunk. When she got to the hospital, it turned out that she had suffered a stroke. Unfortunately, it was too late to be saved.
