The author and producer of the music for the film “Johnny” is Michał Kush, a multi-platinum producer and composer, awarded with Fryderyk awards, and the creator of all Daria Zawiałow’s albums to date. The album also includes two timeless covers performed by Dawid Podsiadło: “Nothing can last forever” from Anna Jantar’s repertoire and “God” from the repertoire of T.Love. Invited to cooperate – Kukon and Dawid Karpiuk wrote and performed two premiere songs, created especially for the soundtrack of the film.

About the movie “Johnny”

“Johnny” is based on true events. Told from the perspective of Father Jan Kaczkowski’s ward, Patryk Galewski – a boy who did not have an easy start in life.

Patrick breaks into a house in a small town. A court verdict orders him to do social work in a hospice in Puck, where he meets an extraordinary priest. Jan Kaczkowski. The priest engages young boys from the vocational school, seemingly tough rebels, to help the sick. In his work, he focuses on closeness, tenderness and fighting for relationships with other people. It teaches empathy. And he does it with a wholesale amount of humor, which makes him hugely popular. Soon after, Jan faces the challenge of fighting the disease himself. Patrick finds himself in a situation that will change his whole life.

The role of the charismatic clergyman Jan Kaczkowski is played by Dawid Ogrodnik. Patryk Galewski will be played by Piotr Trojan, awarded many times for his performance in the film “25 Years of Innocence. The Case of Tomek Komenda”. The screen will also show Magdalena Czerwińska, Anna Dymna, Maria Pakulnis, Marta Stalmierska, Witold Dębicki, Michał Kaleta and Joachim Lamża.

The director of the film is Daniel Jaroszek, who has so far implemented projects in the advertising industry. “Johnny” is his feature debut. The author of the script is Maciej Kraszewski, who also wrote the book “Johnny. A novel about priest Jan Kaczkowski”.

The producer is Robert Kijak (NEXT FILM). The Gazeta.pl campaign for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was born in 2019 and it was not a happy time. The 27th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra was the first one that was not accompanied by a smile and pride for the work of helping children or the elderly until late at night. The celebration of good, one of the greatest social events in Poland after 1989, was interrupted by the tragic events in Gdańsk. On the stage of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, the mayor of the city, Paweł Adamowicz, was mortally wounded.

Then we decided: let’s finish the final next Sunday, let’s defeat evil together. This idea is still valid, especially after the tragic months brought to the whole world by the COVID-19 pandemic. Let’s play #OneDzieńDłużej again for good to win. We want the holiday that we celebrate every year with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity to not end. And that’s why we ask: let’s do it again, one more day. And to the end of the world. The collected money will go to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

This year, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is playing to raise money for modern equipment to quickly identify bacteria that can lead to sepsis. Our this year’s auctions start on January 18 and end on January 30, the day after the GOCC final. After all, we play #OneDayLong.
