Oswaldo Ibarra Barboza, declares himself an Emerald from strains, who at 35 years of age produces his own songs. Since he was 17 years old, he has been in the world of music, and his mission is to preserve that original essence with which he identifies.
His artistic name is Waldokinc the Trojan, a play on words that is derived from the last syllables of his name and his taste for computers. “The Trojan virus was always a headache for my computer, and I said, I want to be like that, a headache,” he mentions in an interview with this newspaper.
Waldokinc presents his most recent single called In the dark, in which he tried to meet all the requests of his public in terms of diversity of rhythms, effects, melodies, “but without losing that essence, that mambo rhythm that I have in reggaeton.”
This theme is accompanied by a video clip, which combines everything he wanted in a music video: background and style. This is why he describes this single as a release that reflects his wishes as an artist, and the suggestions of his audience; and where his evolution in music is recorded.
The artists also participated in this theme: AC La Nota De Oro, Dj Darkman, Profe Andes Molina, Dj Edu Arturo, Henay Music and Valentina Prado.
He says that his approach to urban sounds comes from the pleasure of producing new melodies. “In the beginning I always liked making melodies, as time went by I saw that in the way of rapping I was doing very well… what has always motivated me is to highlight that reggaeton that comes from the north of the country (Esmeraldas)”, says the artist, who seeks to leave a legacy for the new generations.
“My songs are dance, they are joy, they are energy… you listen to a song of mine and you know you have to dance it”adds the artist.
Waldokinc recognizes that in current times, where there are daily premieres, every artist must be involved. “Today the way of promoting a song has changed. We singers have to become influencers”, he pointed.
