Micheal J. Fox caused an avalanche of positive comments last October when he reunited with Christopher Lloyd years later at the New York Comic Con convention. They both had tears in their eyes as they hugged each other. Their reunion has left many fans of the actors wondering if there will ever be a chance to see them on screen together again. This is not expected for now, but it must be admitted that the actors are still in friendly relations with each other.
Micheal J. Fox candid about his relationship with Lloyd
Recently, the actor promoted the documentary “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie”, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In this production, he honestly talks about his illness and alcoholism. During the festival, the actor had his panel, during which he talked about the times when he appeared in the films from the “Back to the Future” series. He also mentioned his acquaintance with Christopher Lloyd. It turns out that they managed to build a really good relationship only during the filming of the third part of the trilogy:
Chris is a great guy, very enigmatic. It took me a few movies to get to know him well. While working on the third Back to the Future, we created a real bond that we didn’t have in the previous ones. I saw how much he loves acting. I hadn’t noticed it before. The opportunity to talk to him about acting, Shakespeare and ‘King Lear’… He can play King Lear! People wouldn’t expect it. It’s full of surprises. In two seconds, he can tell a story that could take up a whole movie. (…) His love for cinema and this profession… He’s not a crazy guy, he’s an artist
Michael J. Fox joined the cast of Back to the Future during the making of the film. Christopher Lloyd filmed several scenes with Eric Stoltz, who was originally set to portray Marty McFly. Director Robert Zemeckis, however, concluded that Stoltz was not right for the role. After Fox got the job, several scenes had to be re-shot.
