MasterChef Ecuador: Sol, Raúl and Santiago will compete for the Chef’s Pin

A new Mystery Box challenge had to be faced by amateur cooks who are still in competition. Inside this they found avocados and their respective oil, for which they had to use these as the main ingredient.

Initially Cynthia and Victoria faced a penalty for staying inside the pantry for not leaving before the allotted time expired. This led to the removal of three ingredients from each one.

From there the challenge began for which they had 45 minutes and only those considered by the judges were going to be called.

These were the participants and their dishes that the judges tasted:

Alexandra: Crispy avocado with tuna tartan accompanied by a sauce with Brazilian nuts.

Johanna: Three sweet arepas filled with avocado cream, pico de gallo style fruit salad.

Santiago: Avocado cream with a bottom of prawns, breaded avocados.

Victory: Cause with shrimp and avocado, accompanied by breaded avocado.

Sun: Cold avocado dessert accompanied by pieces of muffin.

Jamil: Brownies with walnuts and avocado ice cream.

The judges favored Sol’s dish for using avocado in various forms of preparation, which is why he will compete for the Chef’s Pin and also had to make decisions for the creative challenge such as pairing up his colleagues.

The pairs and assigned dishes were:

Cynthia with Jamil: Three cheese ravioli.

Victory with Sara: Cucumber gazpacho, breadsticks with melon and dill salad.

Henry with John: Tuna with walnut crusts.

Alexandra with Andrés: Octopus nori taco.

Raul with Santiago: Beef tenderloin, carrot puree, pepper and sherry demi glace and roasted vegetables.

Johanna with Sonia: Lemon foot deconstruction.

They had to prepare ten portions for the same number of cooks. To select the winning team, diners had to transfer money to the one they liked the most. The amounts were 20, 10 and 5 dollars.

Henry and Johjan’s team collected $5. While Johanna and Sonnia only reached 20 dollars. Cynthia and Jamil collected $40, Sara and Victoria got $55.

Finally, the challenge was won by Santiago and Raúl with 150 dollars over the team of Andrés and Alexandra who reached 80 dollars.

Between Raúl, Santiago and Sol, the chef who wins the pin will be known. (YO)
