The Peruvian government extended the period of validity of the multisectoral commission of a temporary nature in charge of preparing technical reports that contain an evaluation of the Peruvian pension system, as well as a regulatory proposal to create a new pension system.
Through Supreme Decree 012-2023-PCM, published today in the legal regulations bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano, the modification of article 9 that established the creation of this commission until May 31 of this year is provided.
The regulation provides for the publication of the device in the Single Digital Platform of the Peruvian State for Citizen Orientation, as well as in the digital offices of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion. .
The supreme decree, which establishes the creation of this commission, specifies that it will have a period of validity of six months, the same that will be fulfilled tomorrow, so it is necessary to extend it.
In the same way, the commission approved a work plan that contains the schedule of activities that its different members must carry out, based on their respective competencies and as a collegiate body. To do this, it carried out a documentary analysis work and, as a consequence of this, it has been preparing the technical report that contains an evaluation of the current situation of the Peruvian pension system.
The committee will analyze the complexity involved in preparing the second technical report, which must contain a regulatory proposal to create the new pension system, without affecting fiscal sustainability; which requires the development of economic studies that allow knowing an estimate of the costs, benefits and impacts.
