COAC 2023: order of performance of the children’s semifinal of the Carnival of Cádiz

The Cadiz Carnival starts. Officially and technically, Carnival in 2023 falls in mid-February, but depending on which parts of Spain its celebration begins earlier. In Cadiz, for example, Carnival is more than a celebrationis quite an institution, and the starting signal is given by the start of the Official Contest of Carnival Groups (COAC), in which every year comparsas, chirigotas, choirs and quartets ‘fight’ to show their most humorous side but also the more artistic. Laughter at the rhythm of a paso doble. The adult COAC does not start until January 21, but this Thursday the 19th begins the semifinal in the children’s category.

The semifinal of the children’s COAC is divided into two days, January 19 and 20, and is also held at the Gran Teatro Falla in Cádiz, although there are no tickets for these sessions either — they are also sold out for the preliminary phase of the adult COAC, which takes place between January 21 and February 4. Like the adult sessions, the children’s semifinal also has a specific order of actions which is the following:
