RTVE is finalizing the details of the next edition of the Benidorm Fest, Spain’s pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, with a great show with concerts, giant screens through the streets of the city, raffles and a route of gastronomic tapas.
In addition, public television has announced the distribution of the 18 artists who will compete in the two semifinals of the Benidorm Fest 2023, which will take place on January 31 and February 2 to achieve a place in the grand final that will lead them to the Eurovision Song Contest.
In this way, in the first of the semifinals Agoney, Alice Wonder, Aritz Aren, Fusa Nocta, Megara, Meler, Sharonne, Sofía Martín and Twin Melody will participate.
Meanwhile in the second semifinal Alfred García, Blanca Paloma, E’Femme, Famous, José Otero, Karmento, Rakky Ripper, Siderlan and Vicco will perform.
Arranged alphabetically, the order of performance has yet to be revealed. Each semifinal will be accompanied by a pre-show and a post-show, and the final by a special post-show.
María Eizaguirre, Director of Communication for RTVE, has detailed that, in addition to the galas, the Benidorm Fest begins on Sunday, January 29, with an orange carpet where “the best of the best” will be present, the presenters, the contestants, faces of the chain; and a small subsequent reception already behind closed doors, which will be broadcast.
Carlos Higes, Rosa López and the Unión Musical de Benidorm and Societat Musical ‘La Nova’ de Benidorm will perform at this reception, who will make medleys of great Eurovision songs.
Subsequently, on Monday, January 30, the doors of the EuroClub will open on RTVE and both Monday and Wednesday at the Benidorm Palace there will be groups, singers and artists who have stayed at the gates of entering this Benidorm Fest and familiar faces of the like Sara Deop, Bel, Carmen Puente, Alvaro Montes, Adonay Santana, Nena Daconte and Azúcar Moreno, among others.
Already on Wednesday, February 1, Kingdom, Gatica, Ernesto Alonso, Borja Escalona, Karina, Juana, Juanma Fernández, El Guapo Calavera, Tanxugueiras and Ruth Lorenzo will perform. Starting this Thursday, from 12:00 noon, tickets for both events go on sale.
On Friday, at the Tecnohito in Benidorm, there will be a free concert with Soraya Arnelas, Marta Sango, Gonzalo Hermida, Ronela and WRS, author of the song ‘Call me’ and representative of Romania in the last Eurovision Song Contest. Both Tuesday and Thursday there will be screens to see the semifinals and the final at different points in the city of Alicante.
