Jeremy Allen White was supposed to be a dancer, but changed his mind. His role in “The Bear” is a sensation

“Carmy, a young chef, returns to Chicago to run the family business – a sandwich bar. He tries to change the situation of the bar and himself. In the process, he works with an uncouth crew, which in the end turns out to be his family of choice” – reads official a summary of the series “The Bear”, which Polish viewers can watch in its entirety on the Disney+ platform. Golden Globe winner Jeremy Allen White starred in the lead role.

As a child, he wanted to be a dancer. Fortunately, he changed his mind

“Comedy about the workplace. Family drama. Insight into the lives of workers in a claustrophobic kitchen. A testament to the recovery process. It’s hard to imagine mixing it all in a food processor. And yet that’s exactly what it does.>” – praises the series Emily Longeretta from Critics unanimously emphasize that Jeremy Allen White, who plays the main role in this series, is absolutely fantastic and praises his versatility. makes viewers laugh to tears.

“I can’t comprehend the on-screen charisma of this actor. In the pictures – a man like a man, but in the series – magnetic, sexy, attractive, alluring – I could spend a few more hours with these adjectives. From the moment he appears on the screen – we want more and more of him. We immediately buy his character, his motivations, his fears, perhaps his complexes. This is such an intelligent vivisection of a man who is constantly chasing acceptance, which he does not get from the one source that he needs the most. At the same time โ€” which I like very much – he is also a man who is aware enough to seek help, “wrote Katarzyna, a blogger known as Zwierz Popkulturalny, in her review

So it’s hardly surprising that Jeremy Allen White received just for his creation. Onstage, he looked as stunned as his peer Austin Butler, “Thank you, thank you, thank you. To all the nominees with me in this category, I just wanted to say how much I admire you. I don’t know where you sit, but you’re all legendary. It’s such an honor to have only my name was listed next to yours,” White said in his speech. He did not exaggerate, because Donald Glover (for the series “Atlanta”), Bill Hader (“Barry”), Martin Short and Steve Martin (both for “Crimes Next Door”) were also nominated.

In fact, “The Bear” is an example of a spectacular success, because the summary of the series itself does not announce what awaits the viewers. White is a relatively young actor – he was born on February 17, 1991 in an acting family. His parents met in New York, where their son was born. However, they both gave up acting to support their family.

Jeremy was interested in dancing since he was a child and for most of elementary school. He specialized in ballet, jazz and tap. However, when he started a new school and a new dance program at the age of 13, he changed his mind. Instead of dancing, he decided to pursue acting professionally. As part of his high school studies, he went to the Professional Performing Arts School and very quickly began his first engagements. In 2006, he made his film debut in “Beautiful Ohio”, and a year later appeared in “The Speed โ€‹โ€‹of Life”. Then he starred in “Afterschool” with Ezra Miller – the film premiered at Cannes.

However, television turned out to be his element – also in 2006 he got a role in the series “Conviction”, later there were episodes in the popular series “Law & Order”. The first big breakthrough came with the comedy-drama series “Shameless”. This one was broadcast for 10 years and White played one of the main roles there. The story follows the dysfunctional Gallagher family. Her head is lonely and addicted to alcohol Frank, who has six children. He spends most of his time in a rush, and his children must learn to take care of themselves. White played the eldest of the sons: Philip “Lip” Gallagher.

His filmography also includes such films and series as the star-studded “Movie 43”, “Twelve”, “The Rental” and “Homecoming”. It is worth noting that this year’s Golden Globe nomination for “The Bear” was his first. It promises to be worth following his further career.
