A john village depressed by all the evils that plague his much-loved city is the plot proposed by the new short play that is presented in La Colmena. This bad taste that he carries like a weight on his shoulders is treated in a psychiatric clinic, where a new technique awaits this traditional character to restore his mental health.
John Town, name of the microwork, is starring Gabriel Gallardo, like the psychiatrist, and Erick Falcon ‘Kachafa’, Like Juan Pueblo. His direction is in charge of Marco Duchely and Christian Quiroz; while the script is from Ernesto Landin. “Despite being in a commercial space, the work has a strong social message”Gallardo says.
He indicates that a representation of this popular slang figure is shown, with a strong sensitivity to what is happening around him. “He is a man who has an excessive love for his city. Because just as he loves his city, he is bothered by injustices, inequalities, abuse by citizens against citizens themselves, crime, abuse of power by certain authorities, negligence ”describes the actor.
When attending this psychiatrist’s office, Juan Pueblo is faced with a session in Area 25, where the doctor is testing a new treatment. “We see a psychiatrist who has constant changes, between the doctor who is formal and the one who talks to you like the typical guaiac. This is part of his new technique to create a bond and be able to figure out what is happening with the patients ”, Gallardo tells, who gives life to the psychiatrist.

This is how comedy, drama and popular music from Guayaquil come together in a proposal that is now in its second week of presentations. “It is a work that the public has liked very much… Everything is nuanced with a sharp sense of humor (…) I think that humor is a lifestyle, it is the attitude with which a person faces the misfortunes of the daily live”, He says.
And it is that in some way they have sought to portray the guayaquileño from strain. “The guaiac despite everything he has lived through and the hardship he has been through does not lose faith, does not lose hope, and is always with a smile and predisposed to serve “mentions.
