Pitbulls don’t get the best press. Van Gogh also had no ear, so his chances of being adopted were slim. An employee of the foundation where the dog was staying came up with a great idea to find the dog.
Van Gogh participated in dogfights. It’s a miracle he’s alive
Van Gogh is a mix between a boxer and a pit bull. As a result of dog fights he was forced to, he lost an ear. That’s why the shelter staff decided to name him Van Gogh. The famous painter also had only one ear. Pitbull, however, had trouble finding a home. Many people are afraid to adopt a dog, which is often considered an aggressive breed, and the lack of an ear made Van Gogh less likely to be adopted. No one wanted a “defective” dog. Advertisements and numerous entries on the Internet did not help, and no one applied for adoption.
An employee of the foundation came up with a brilliant idea. Van Gogh has found a home
An employee of the Happily Furever After Rescue foundation, Jaclyn Gartner, where the pit bull was staying, came up with a great idea. To help the dog find a new home, she decided to spread paint on the canvas and cover it with foil. She put peanut butter on the foil. The dog, licking the butter, smeared the paint on the canvas and, like a real Van Gogh, created a unique painting. Several thousand people watched the video of the pitbull painting the picture.
Van Gogh’s dog works were put up for auction, and the proceeds from their sale were donated to organizations that help animals. Thanks to the idea of Jaclyn Gartner, Van Gogh found a new loving home.
