This Friday the death of the Mexican actor, producer and director Héctor Bonilla at the age of 83 after suffering from kidney cancer was announced.
His son Fernando released the news through a statement in which he specified that he died peacefully and surrounded by his closest circle.
“We are aware that Hector left an immeasurable legacy and many hearts will mourn his loss. Know that, despite the infinite sadness that overwhelms us, we are calm to say goodbye to a man who left without owing anything to anyone, who lived intensely and fully, who always led by example and sowed love and joy for every path he took. He toured as he wanted,” the statement continued.
In addition, they shared an epitaph that Bonilla himself wrote for himself a few years ago.
“The show is over, don’t mess around (disturbing), whoever saw me, saw me, there’s nothing left.”
Bonilla is remembered for his performances in movies like ‘young and beautiful‘(1962),’Patsy my love‘ (1969) and ‘Red Dawn‘ (1990), for which he won the Ariel Award for Best Actor in 1991.

Born in 1939, he studied at the National Theater School of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico (INBA), where he developed the acting talent that would lead him to participate in more than 30 films and as many soap operas.
At 80 years old and despite suffering from kidney cancer since the beginning of 2019, he continued to practice his profession until his last days and received the Ariel de Oro award this year from the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC).

“Almost twenty years ago, I wrote this letter to my children, Leonor, Sergio and Fernando. In the 2020 pandemic I took the opportunity to put music on it. By the way, I only mention my first two grandchildren because the other five were not born. I’ll leave it there, ”he wrote two years ago on his YouTube channel.
“And without fortune the luckiest. Owner of nothing, I go to the cemetery, naked, calm, in love, because I have a woman that I love very much and who is the owner of all mine, ”says part of the song.
In the composition, he also asks that if they donate their organs, they should not be ashamed “because I am going to leave it very worn out.”
