Euskaraz irakurri: “Ez naiz inoiz Dublinen egon” komedia estreinatuko dute Donostian
The Tentazioa theater company will premiere this Friday, January 6, at the Pirincipal Theater in San Sebastián the play Ez naiz inoiz Dublinen egon“an acid comedy about the acceptance of other people’s experiences and beliefs”.
The play is written by Markos Goikolea, who signs his first long-form stage work, and directed by Mireia Gabilondo. Gabilondo herself is part of the cast of actors and actresses, who make up Iñigo Aranburu (Handia, Maixabel, model 77, Altsasu, brag…), Iñigo Azpitarte (Goazen!, Sisiforen paperak, when you stop loving me…) and Aitziber Garmendia (gure kasa, barre livery, Uda gau baten ametsa, erlauntza, sukalde kontuak…).
The Amesti family gathers to celebrate Christmas night, but this year is special. Elena, the youngest daughter, returns from London after three years without contact and the four of them will finally be together again. But she doesn’t come alone, she comes with Cindy, her Irish girlfriend that everyone is looking forward to meeting.
What nobody imagines is that Cindy is an invisible character, a fantasy of Elena’s that will turn the fragile balance of this family upside down, struggling between accepting or rejecting this strange guest. Throughout this delirious night, each one will bring out their own fantasies and miseries. And despite the difficulties in accepting each other, we will see that, in reality, they are all looking for the same thing; an illusion that helps them live.
The work can be seen in Basque on January 6 and 7, and in Spanish on January 8.
