Discounts for seniors over 60. You can save a lot in several ways

In the era of raging, it is not known when the prices of products in stores will increase again. Although seniors also have a chance to receive the 13th and 14th pension in 2023, the support is not always enough to cover all needs. For this reason, many retirees check from time to time what they can save on. It turns out that after the age of 60, there are many discounts that will help relieve the senior’s wallet. We present the most popular ones that apply in 2022.

Discounts on the RTV subscription in 2022 are real support for pensioners

. two groups of seniors have been exempted from paying RTV subscription fees:

• Those who have reached the age of 60 and have an established right to receive an amount not exceeding half of the average monthly salary in the previous year (PLN 2,840.78 gross);
• Pensioners aged 75 or over (regardless of the amount of benefits received).

Nationwide Senior Card. Real support that guarantees many discounts

Seniors who are over 60 may apply for a National Senior Card. The form guarantees discounts that can be used in about 3,000 points throughout Poland, i.e. sanatoriums, health resorts and cultural institutions. A full list of locations can be found on the website.

Discounts on public transport. Seniors have a chance to travel much cheaper

In 2022, seniors who travel by public transport can take advantage of many discounts, but they vary depending on the city and the specific carrier:

• 10-50 percent discount – seniors who are over 60 can count on the support of POLREGIO, PKP SKM in Tricity, Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna and Koleje Dolnośląskie;
• 37 percent discount – applies to 2nd class travel on PKP, TLK and express trains. It can be used twice a year, but the senior must have an appropriate certificate entitling him to a reduced fare. They are issued, for example, by the Polish Association of Retired, Pensioners and Invalids;
• up to 50 percent discount – depending on the city, seniors can take advantage of discounts or free public transport travel (usually after turning 70).
