Octavio Ocaña died at the age of 22 in a strange incident over which enormous confusion reigns.
The Mexican Government will provide accompaniment to the actor’s family Octavio Ocaña, who was killed by a mysterious gunshot to the head during a police chase in the central State of Mexico, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured this Wednesday.
“We are going to do it, I have already given instructions to the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, so that they communicate with the family and have the whole case reviewed,” said the president at the press conference from the National Palace.
He assured that although the investigation is in charge of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, the federal government will intervene, as the actor’s father asked for their help.
“We are going to participate being respectful of the investigations that (state authorities) have done,” he said.
And he pointed out that the family of Ocaña, 22-year-old actor who participated in the series “Neighbors.”
Ocaña’s death occurred last Friday in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli, when a police van asked the actor to stop his vehicle, which unleashed a chase that ended with the actor’s vehicle, who was traveling with two other companions, crashed on a wall.
According to the State Prosecutor’s Office, the actor died from a shot in the head from a weapon that was inside the vehicle and that was detonated during the persecution in still unclear circumstances.
The Mayor’s Office of Cuautitlán Izcalli maintains that the Police wanted to stop Ocaña’s vehicle after realizing that he had a weapon inside.
However, a video broadcast on social networks has further contributed to the confusion, as it shows moments after the crash, in which Ocaña appears bleeding and is still alive without the police trying to help him.
In statements to different media, the actor’s father, Octavio Pérez, has accused the Police of the State of Mexico of having killed his son and to have prepared everything to make his son see as guilty and for that reason he requested the intervention of the president.
“I ask you to please give us your hand, because this is not going to stay like that, because that was an outrage what they did,” he said.
Pérez acknowledged that his son carried a weapon to protect himself, however, he specified that the bullet that killed him was not the same caliber.
Ocaña made his debut at age 7 playing the character of Benito in “Necinos,” an 11-season series produced by Eugenio Derbez and Elías Solorio. (I)
