Set between the first and second world war, the story weaves together fact and fiction, providing a cinematic experience filled with great Hollywood faces What Christian baleRami Malek, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Michael Shannon, Robert De Niro, anya taylor joy and even the singer Taylor Swift.

“Christian (Bale) and I we were very interested in creating original characters that we would like to hang out with, that we would like to play and that we would love to surround ourselves with. Characters we hadn’t seen before”, commented the director during a virtual press conference to which this newspaper was invited.

“Something epic, something that was fun and inspiring, in addition to shedding light on parts of history that many people do not know, that we did not know, as we discovered (…) I know It’s about characters who don’t follow the rules and who find, in their own way, reasons to love life despite whatever circumstances they’re facing. And that’s the notion of Amsterdam. What is it that you love about life and about others that you decide to live for?” she explained.

Y in the midst of all that camaraderie and humor that comes from everyday situationssomething much bigger is hidden: a conspiracy that threatens the democracy of the United States.

“We took a little that recorded history and that is explosive, fascinating, and that becomes that secret plutonium for any filmmaker to share as part of a dramatic piece, and then we invent our own bonds of friendship, the kind that were never really written down in the books, and all the people they met on that journey to save themselves.”
