Euskaraz irakurri: Dena gertu, Bertsolari Txapelketa Nagusiaren finalerako
The Euskal Herria Bertsolaris Championship will end this Sunday, December 18, after three months of competition, with the final to be held at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona in front of more than 13,000 people.
Aitor Mendiluze Gonzalez, Alaia Martin Etxebeste, Amets Arzallus Antia, Beñat Gaztelumendi Arandia, Joanes Illarregi Marzol, Maialen Lujanbio Zugasti, Nerea Ibarzabal Salegi or Sustrai Colina Acordarrementeria. One of these bertsolaris will wear the champion’s txapela on his head this Sunday, at around 8:30 p.m.
13,000 people will watch live at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona, from 11:00 a.m. (the doors will open two hours before), the final of the Bertsolaris Euskal Heria Championship, for which all the tickets “were already sold from September”.
After celebrating four finals at the Barakaldo BEC, the final comes this year, a year later than it should due to the pandemic, in Pamplona. “It is a very important approach on the part of the world of bertso and Euskera,” said the champion Maialen Lujanbio about the change of venue.
Lujanbio has also highlighted the presence of three women among the finalists: “It has a strong political meaning, not only for me, not only for the women, but for the eight finalists, for culture and for the world of Basque “.
This year Iñaki Murua Jauregi will be in charge of placing the txapela for the winner of the final. In addition to bertsolari, Murua has been a great promoter of bertsolarism and was president of Euskal Herriko Bertsozale Elkartea between 2005 and 2018.
EITB will offer the full final on ETB1, eitb.eus and its YouTube channel.
