Euskaraz irakurri: “Aurreikuspenak beteta eta pozik” itxi ditu ateak Durangoko Azokak
The organizing team of the Durangoko Azoka concludes the 2022 edition “with expectations fulfilled and happy”. After two years of exceptional editions marked by the pandemic, the fair has recovered its usual format this year, and Gerediaga Elkartea has pointed out that “it has been a year of celebration, of reunion, of reviving the culture square, an environment that we have perceived at the fair. We are very grateful and grateful”.
The good atmosphere and the recovery of sales after the last two years have marked the Durangoko Azoka, which has been held under the motto of eztanDA (“explosion”). “The challenge is that this explosion experienced during these five days spreads from town to town throughout the Basque Country, so that Azoka is not an oasis and we continue to expand the feeling of community that we have felt in Durango.”
The five days of the Azoka have been “very crowded”, especially on December 8, the most crowded day. In all the spaces of the Azoka the capacity has been filled at some point and it has also been necessary to expand the shuttle bus service with the car parks to meet the demand.
Sales have increased and the public has undoubtedly prioritized purchasing in person, since one of the strengths of the meeting is being able to buy the products from the hands of their authors. In the online store, purchases have dropped considerably compared to last year: 434 orders have been placed in four days, for a total of 1,685 products.
The Azoka closes its doors, but the organization has reminded that starting tomorrow the initiative “Zu non, han DA!” will be launched. In 132 shops in the Basque Country it will be possible to purchase the literary novelties of this edition, and this year for the first time the creators will also present their books in 45 bookstores.
Next year, the Durangoko Azoka will celebrate its 58th edition between December 6 and 10.
