Christopher Nolan and the team of ‘oppenheimer‘ have managed to recreate a nuclear bomb without using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery, or computer generated images). The director himself has confirmed this in an interview with ‘Total Film’, where he talks about the “great challenge” that his new project has entailed on a visual level.
“Andrew Jackson, my visual effects supervisor, has seen how we could do many of the visuals in the film in practical ways, from rendering dynamics and quantum physics to the Trinity test. [la primera detonación de un arma nuclear] itself, and recreate it, on a plateau in New Mexico with an extraordinary climate, in very harsh conditions… there was daunting practical challenges“, Explain.
For Nolan, ‘Oppenheimer’ is a story “of immense scope and scale”, as well as “one of the most challenging projects” he has undertaken. Of course, the director praises the “extraordinary” team that he has accompanied him. “As I look at the results and put the film together, I am delighted with what my team has been able to achieve“, celebrates.
The director says that his goal is to tell the story “through the eyes” of robert oppenheimerwhich the actor will play cillian murphy: “All of our decisions about how to make this movie were based on that actual premise.”
The feature film will be released on July 21, 2023.
