The proposal’s central axis is to return the prominence to farmers and communities that are losing their folklore, through the use of cocktail products such as motilón (tree grape), sunfo (aromatic plant), chontacuros (chonta worm ) or the sheet of Santa Maria.

“At Juliana, the menu Diverse It is not simply a list of drinks, but a reflection of the spirit and mission of the bar to defend the products and people of its country”, highlighted the organization about the winning bar. “Browsing through the document takes your guests on a journey, where each page functions as a sanctuary for a single cocktail. Marked simply by a minimalist title and drawing, ingredient description and flavor profile, each drink is also paired with contextualization of its formulation, from brief histories of its indigenous ingredients to its broader cultural impact.”

The menu is made up of nine cocktails with ingredients from different provinces of Ecuador. Juliana’s beverage program is run by Sarah Ruiz.

“We seek to encourage our producers to maintain their legacy and prevent our ancestral practices and ingredients from being lost. That everyone knows and tastes the flavors that make our country unique.” Daniel and Agustín Febres-Cordero, creative directors of Juliana, commented.

Juliana is located on Calle Panamá e Imbabura, on the third floor of the building that houses the Museo Nacional del Cacao. The attention to the public is from Tuesday to Friday, from 15:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00.
