The subject of wedding gifts is not only of great interest, but also of considerable controversy. Many people going to a wedding have a problem with choosing a gift. It happens that the bride and groom want to facilitate the task of their guests and indicate in the invitations which gifts they would like to receive. It turns out, however, that such behavior is considered a polite error.

Sometimes information about gifts appears on wedding invitations. The bride and groom tell their guests that they would like to receive money, for example. However, this solution is quite controversial. According to many people, such information is a great convenience for guests. However, not everyone likes this solution. Our reader described her experience.

– I received an invitation to my niece’s wedding and wedding with the information that the bride and groom would like to receive money as a gift. I find it strange that someone writes about this type of requirement. I felt disgust. This behavior is tactless

Even though more and more young couples choose to include information about gifts in invitations, etiquette professionals are not usually looking favorably upon this. This behavior is considered rude as none of the guests arriving at the party is really required to give a gift. And it is tactless to suggest what exactly to give them.

There is one exception to this rule.

The exception is when the gift is abandoned in favor of a gift for others, e.g. people or animals in need.
