Two workers aged 45 and 36 die in Puente la Reina


It has happened at the facilities of Señorío de Sarría, when the workers have fallen into a raft of slurry from the dairy. Both appear to have vanished, probably from inhalation of methane gas.

Two workers aged 45 and 36 have died in a work accident that occurred this Monday in a dairy at the facilities of Señorío de Sarríain Puente la Reina (Navarra), as EITB Media has learned.

The accident, as reported by the Foral Police, occurred around 12:40 p.m. when both workers fell into a raft of slurry from the dairy, one of them died on the spot and the second, with a very serious prognosis, has died this afternoon.

When the emergency teams arrived, one of the workers had died and the other was in very serious condition.

The Technical Rescue Group of the Navarre Fire Service, which has traveled by helicopter, and members of the Estella Fire Station, who have rescued the two men, have been mobilized to the scene.

The injured man was taken in critical condition to the University Hospital of Navarra in the helicopter after undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers by the local medical team and the rest of the care services displaced to the company’s facilities. Finally, he has passed away.

Members of the Judicial Police of the Foral Police are currently investigating the causes and dynamics of the event, without ruling out that its seriousness could have been due to the inhalation of methane gas.
