The Regional Deputy for Infrastructure and Territorial Development points out that this infrastructure allows, on the one hand, to interconnect municipalities and, on the other, to move in a different way.
The Regional Deputy for Infrastructure and Territorial Development, Imanol Pradaleshas highlighted that the new boulevard that will link Bilbao, Erandio, Leioa and Getxo is a clear commitment to the sustainable mobility. Likewise, he believes that this infrastructure will allow “interconnect municipalities and move in a different way” for the metropolis.
As stated in an interview conducted this Thursday on the ETB1 program “Egun On Euskadi”, the objective would be to reduce the thousands of daily journeys by car in this area of Bizkaia.
“In the metropolitan area there is a lot of use of the car, and we want to change that”, explained the deputy from Bizkaia. Thus, he has indicated that according to calculations, with this new infrastructure “these trips by car will be reduced by a third”.
Pradales has also highlighted that with the new boulevard they are also looking for connections to areas where there is public transport, and added that “when we recover the banks of the estuaries for citizens, various activities will also be generated”.
Regarding tolls, Pradales stressed that on the roads that are under his ownership “we have our model, similar to the one Gipuzkoa has”. Regarding the AP-68, he emphasizes that they have ownership, but that the management does not depend on them.
