Arcsa released a new portfolio of 91 specialized foods for different health conditions

The National Agency for Health Regulation, Control and Surveillance (Arcsa) released, within the framework of World Health Day, which is celebrated every April 7, the new portfolio of 91 products aimed at consumers with special medical needs, which includes 38 foods that do not contain gluten, 8 special for diabetics, 23 that do not contain lactose, 7 products with the enzyme lactase, 6 free of phenylalanine, 13 products for special medicinal purposes, among others.

In this way, Arcsa joins the global efforts to offer opportunities in the Ecuadorian market for the treatment, care and nutrition of all citizens without exception. You can see the complete list by clicking here.

Arca stressed that its main mission is “to protect the health of the Ecuadorian population by managing the risk of products for human use and consumption, that is, ensuring that they meet all quality conditions before and during their time on the market.”

He also mentioned that this work is one of the central objectives of the World Health Organization for health agencies around the world and Arcsa joins with the presentation of specialized products that have been certified for consumption by people with oncological, diabetic, celiac, lactose intolerant, phenylketonuric diseases, among others, which allows them to maintain their quality of life.

The institution added that it constantly certifies that medicines, cosmetics and processed foods, among others, that are marketed in the country respect health regulations and the established price ceiling. (I)
